1. Be Clear on you vision and WHY it is so important for you to achieve this


The motivation to succeed comes from visualising the end result achieved – you need to know what this will look like and really want to achieve it. When setting the goal BE SPECIFIC about what you want to achieve. For example, don’t just say I want to lose weight. You need to consider how much weight you want to lose and by when. It is fine to be ambitious, but it does needs to be a realistic goal with timescales, so you are not setting yourself up for failure. For example, saying you want to lose 3 stone in 1 week wouldn’t be helpful.


2. Break it down into size able chunks.


It can be over whelming to work out how to achieve a goal when it is so big. The key advice is to break it down and take one step at a time. Taking ACTION is vital. Goals set that are never acted upon become dreams.


3. Schedule actions weekly


What gets scheduled – gets done. Each week list down the actions to be completed and break it down over the 7 days. Have this schedule or to do list in a visible space such as; on the fridge, on a whiteboard, a corkboard or even in a notebook that you are going to look at daily. Tick of actions complete as you go to keep you on track.


4. Reflection


Remember to reflect and praise yourself on all progress. Reflecting on accomplishments is key to keeping your motivation levels sky high!


5. Celebrate milestones along the way


In advance, plan how you chose to celebrate when you achieve certain milestones - this does not necessarily mean celebrations which require spending money or treating yourself to something new – but this is fine too. It can be as simple as time out to relax – a bath, read a book, a road trip somewhere nice.
